Veterinary Specialists Of The Rockies

I’ve never used Veterinary Services of the Rockies until I needed to put down my 16 year old dog. Now I wish I had given them a shot years ago. The staff was very professional and accommodating during the process and frankly probably one of the best experiences I’ve had given the situation. If I ever decide to be a pet owner again, I will definitely use them as my primary veterinary.

UPDATE!!! This ER Vet’s office was amazing in hearing our complaints not defending or deflecting the issues and took steps internally to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future. We were treated with kindness compassion and the they owned their part in the situation. Changing my review from 1 to 4 stars!! Good job to the front desk ladies and managers/medical directors in providing exceptional service and rectifying the situation. We feel comfortable using them again. The blond heavyset Dr. thought it would be a good idea to send our 125 lb dog home after surgery and give her an extra dose of sedative right before releasing her to the point she couldn’t walk and collapsed in the parking lot it took 3 uf us to lift her into the car. The shoved her in so her leg was bent up underneath her and could have dislocated her leg. They knew my wife just had back surgery and couldn’t lift over 10 lbs yet sent her home with the dog anyway the dig passed out unable to move and we couldn’t get her in the house!! We already took her to the ER because another vet botched her mouth surgery today and left her mouth bleeding profusely then they did this to us and our dog. Can you say attorney?!?! I can. It was amazing how quickly and precisely they took care of getting us to pay the bill though.

I brought my cat here for an emergency urinary blockage. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to have him treated here due to financial constraints, but I’m incredibly grateful for our vet tech, Isabella. She supported us, educated us, and provided us with resources both during our visit and over the following days as we navigated one of the hardest few days of our lives as pet owners. Her compassion, patience, and willingness to help after hours and as we had our cat treated with other vet hospitals meant more to us than I can express. Thank you, Isabella. I would recommend this hospital if your pet is in need of emergency care.

Staff was incredibly rude during an already stressful emergency. I understand that an emergency veterinary hospital needs to collect payment and that deposits may be required for continued treatment. My issue was not simply being asked to pay—it was the way the situation was handled. While our animal was receiving emergency treatment, a tech called regarding additional payment for overnight care. The conversation made us feel as though continued care was dependent on making the payment immediately. When I tried to speak, I was told, “Let me speak,” in a tone that I found extremely rude and condescending. When your pet is experiencing an emergency, you are already worried and vulnerable. Being spoken to this way while also discussing the financial requirements for continuing treatment made an already difficult situation significantly worse. I understand that veterinary care costs money and that the hospital has payment policies. However, those conversations can still be handled with compassion and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Based on the way we were treated, I would be hesitant to return here for emergency care. ****update*** Upon pick up my dog was covered in fecal matter and vomit. After two days in the hospital the staff did not even clean up my animal. This is terrible. I can’t imagine the type of conditions they are housing animals in considering they let them sit in their own pee and poop. This place should reported.
