Dr. James Shea and his staff provided an outstanding experience at our initial veterinary appointment. After relocating to Colorado from Nebraska a couple of years ago, I was looking to establish care for my Shih Poo. A colleague at my dental office highly recommended Dr. Shea, noting both the ongoing updates to the clinic and her confidence in his veterinary work. They were able to work us in promptly so we could establish care and address some lumps. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by how clean and welcoming the office felt and by the genuine friendliness of the entire staff. We were taken back to a room in a timely manner. The veterinary technician was warm, bubbly, and clearly happy to meet my dog, which immediately put me at ease. She sat on the floor to greet him at his level; a small gesture I truly appreciated. The intern assisting today was equally kind and helpful. What stood out most was Dr. Shea’s thorough and thoughtful approach. He took detailed handwritten notes to ensure nothing was overlooked and explained everything clearly and completely so that all of my questions were answered and my concerns were addressed. His knowledge and professionalism left me feeling completely confident placing my dog in his care. I also appreciated that the team asked permission before offering treats and checked for any allergies. They even took the time to give me a tour of the facility, which felt both thoughtful and reflective of the pride they take in their practice. I am so glad to have found this clinic and look forward to partnering with Dr. Shea and his excellent team to keep my fur babies healthy and comfortable for years to come. I’m also excited to see the continued improvements to the office, including the upcoming digital X-rays and ultrasound, which will only further enhance the high level of care they already provide. Dr Shea at Lyons Vet is outstanding! I can get my pet in quickly for any concerns, he is kind , has a gentle approach and incorporates high quality care while being mindful of keeping visits and treatments affordable. The staff are also equally outstanding!! We are very grateful to have Dr Shea and his team here in Lyons!

This is the nicest vet office I've ever been to. They took their time with my reactive/anxious dog during her appointment. I felt overjoyed to watch her relax over the span of our visit until she was laying comfortably on the ground, inviting them to play with her ball, and not even panting. Cheyenne the tech and James the vet were both very kind and informative with me and gentle and sweet with my pup. They are compassionate people, and fear-free certified vets, and it definitely shows!
