Seems to be a reccuring theme with the type of attitude given by the staff here... Reached out to set an appointment for one of my dogs, was emailed and texted that they would set an appointment for my dog on the day I requested so long as I filled out a patient form, which I did immediately. They never got back to me so I called and was told, with a bit of an attitude, "well I don't know who told you that because we don't have any available appointments", when I was explicitly told that there were no available slots UNTIL the day I wanted him to be seen. Staff I spoke to acted like it wasn't their problem. Not surprised by their lower rating. Would not have written a review if the staff just owned up to their mistake rather than giving me some attitude saying it's not their problem (when in an instance like this, it 100% is). Your being busy is not my problem to handle. Staff I spoke with was Heather. There are similar reviews to how she speaks with clients. Yall may want to teach this seemingly fully grown adult how to do her job? Edit: I called a vet in Durango that was also fully booked, but the recptionist gave me incredibly helpful info on what I could do (and also didnt have an attitude). Never expecting anyone to go above and beyond their job description, but the experience with this receptionist is making me double down that Heather needs to find a new job. She's probably related to the owner or something, there are multiple reviews specifically calling her out. Heather, you may want to stop giving your name. It's not good for this business.

Dr. Rose A. Bernholtz is truly a lifesaver. On the afternoon of July 3rd, our 5-month-old puppy, Copper, was brutally attacked by a neighbor’s pitbull in our yard. It was late in the day before a holiday weekend, and despite calling multiple veterinary and emergency clinics, no one would see him including Durango. Dr. Bernholtz stayed late to help when no one else would. Copper had devastating injuries, including a crushed skull and serious trauma to his nose, jaw, and neck. She immediately took X-rays, managed his pain, and provided the emergency care he desperately needed. Her compassion, expertise, and dedication saved Copper’s life. In one of the most frightening moments our family has ever experienced, she went above and beyond for our puppy and our family. We are forever grateful to Dr. Bernholtz and the entire team at Mancos Valley Veterinary Hospital. They are the kind of people you hope are there when you need them most. They have been caring for my pets for over 2 years now and it’s always a good experience. Thank you!
